Nine members of Currylovers.org visited the Saffron Club located in the old Glossop Road baths, West Street, Sheffield. The Saffron Club is Sheffield's newest restaurant and is owned by two brothers wanting to make a name for themselves. They do not cater for the pub closing market and want to promote their food to people that love good food. Currylovers also welcomed their newest member Barry Phillips, a vegetarian curry lover from Hereford.

The internal decoration of the Saffron Club is excellent. It is clean and new with excellent facilities, including air conditioning - a real plus given it was the hottest day ever recorded the night we visited.

We were very well looked after by the waiting staff. The menu was simple and unfussy but offered a good range of Asian cuisine with some new dishes. We had a range of meat, fish and vegetarian starters that freshly prepared, and were simply excellent.

The main courses came about twenty minutes after the starters, and all arrived at once. Currylovers.org had ordered a range of fish, lamb, chicken, vegetarian and tandoori dishes with a variety of breads and rice. Our secretary asked them to make a bespoke tandoori chicken dish that was not on the menu, and the waiter (who turned out to be the co-owner) spoke knowledgably about the menu and agreed to make the dish without question.
